PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lukasz Patryk (ranked 4170 p4p, 544 weight class) and Nevil Hawk (ranked 22199 p4p, 860 weight class). Hawk has chosen Ruleta as his entrance music. Lukasz Patryk is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lukasz Patryk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nevil Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patryk bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Patryk drives through and clinches with Hawk against the cage.

Hawk swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Hawk throws out a counter right but Patryk avoids it with no problem.

Patryk's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Patryk is trying to drag Hawk to the mat but Hawk just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hawk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patryk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Patryk content to control rather than advance.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hawk can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hawk is refusing to be controlled, as Patryk sits in half guard.
Patryk stops Hawk from getting back to his feet.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Patryk closes the distance and clinches up with Hawk, looking for a takedown. Patryk pushes Hawk against the cage but Hawk circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hawk throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hawk lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Patryk circles away quickly and effectively.

Patryk drives through and clinches with Hawk against the cage.

Patryk jumps guard and drags Hawk to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Patryk bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hawk's guard.

Patryk with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hawk is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Patryk is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Nevil Hawk seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Patryk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hawk sprawls well. Hawk wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Patryk gets slowly back to his feet.

No joy there for Hawk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hawk is fighting off a takedown attempt but Patryk is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hawk to the mat. Hawk regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Patryk connects with a nice short shot to Hawk's temple.

Hawk might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

A relieved looking Lukasz Patryk thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
