Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nothing KO (ranked 4314 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Winter (ranked 2904 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Winter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nothing KO!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Winter!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
KO connects with a crisp jab.


It looks like Mark Winter has been cut.
KO connects with a right hand. Winter shakes it off.
Winter walks into a stiff left hand from KO.

Winter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. KO is trying to defend but Winter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Winter is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Winter is working for a kimura but KO is defending it quite comfortably.

KO knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Winter on the ground.

Winter is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. KO doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Winter.

Winter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
KO blocking the ground and pound attempt from Winter.

KO trying to hold on to Winter's head to control him but Winter postures up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Winter scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
KO is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Winter scores with a couple of nice shots.

Winter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
KO on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Winter is working for a submission of some sort.
Winter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Winter is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Winter throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Winter seems to be looking for submissions.
KO is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Winter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Winter moves into full mount! KO won't be happy about that!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

KO in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Winter cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


KO swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Winter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but KO avoids it really well and circles away.
Winter takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
KO throws an off balance right hand

and Winter counters with a takedown into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
KO takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
KO avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Winter.
KO on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if KO tries to get out of the position.
KO takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Winter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Winter working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Winter looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Winter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Winter works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

KO is looking for a sweep.

Winter cracks KO with a big elbow.

Winter is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, KO has escaped the position, nice work there.
Winter connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused KO some visible discomfort.

KO might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Winter in side control lands a decent elbow.
KO takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Winter lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear KO down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Winter is working to tighten his grip on KO's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. KO has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Winter is really squeezing tight and eventually KO passes out! Winter breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
