Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wilmer Ramsey (ranked 6504 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Ortiz (ranked 25420 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wilmer Ramsey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luis Ortiz!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramsey throws a head kick but Ortiz moves out of range.

Ortiz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ortiz advances to half guard.
Ramsey keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Ramsey continues to stall.
Ramsey could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ortiz is keen to just control but Ramsey is a slippery customer.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Wilmer Ramsey will probably get the nod.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ramsey is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ortiz is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Ortiz wants to stand up but Ramsey has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Luis Ortiz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Ortiz gets control of Ramsey's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ortiz will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Ramsey slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ortiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ramsey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ortiz has a hand on Ramsey's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Ramsey takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
