PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ignatius Thistlewhite (ranked 1251 p4p, 128 weight class) and Jargon Gin (ranked 1282 p4p, 131 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Thistlewhite or perhaps it was just good defense by Gin, which made it look bad.

Gin rushes Thistlewhite and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Thistlewhite has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Gin lands with a short shot to the head.
Gin misses with some punches.
Gin tries to work over Thistlewhite's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Gin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gin lands a high kick!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thistlewhite tries to clinch there but Gin circles away.
Thistlewhite takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Ignatius Thistlewhite has been cut.
Thistlewhite misses with a jab, cross combination.
Thistlewhite swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gin counters with a straight right hand.
Gin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Thistlewhite is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Gin moves out of range as Thistlewhite strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thistlewhite is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thistlewhite throws a series of punches but Gin avoids them all with ease.
Oh Thistlewhite is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gin closes the distance and clinches.
A short uppercut from Gin.
Gin lands a big right hand that drops Thistlewhite! The killer instinct kicks in and Gin finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Gin!
