PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin BK (ranked 291 p4p, 29 weight class) and Bonesaw McGraw (ranked 2440 p4p, 222 weight class). Benjamin BK has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 17 - 1, fighting out of New York, Benjamin BK!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bonesaw McGraw!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Alyssa Summers and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGraw misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McGraw tries to land a front kick but BK steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
BK takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
BK misses with a looping right.
BK takes a swing at McGraw's ribcage but misses.
BK lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
McGraw just misses with a punch to the body.
McGraw throws a body shot but no joy.
Bonesaw McGraw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
BK tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McGraw was well out of range. Poor timing from BK.
McGraw on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
McGraw misses with a double jab.
BK fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McGraw manages to avoid it.
BK throws a hook but McGraw blocks it.
McGraw shapes to counter with a head kick.
McGraw throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
BK gets cracked there but stands up to it.
BK takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
BK delivers a nice body kick.
Sloppy strikes from McGraw. Those never looked like landing.
McGraw throws a hook but BK avoids it easily.
McGraw misses with a body shot.
BK appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

McGraw gets caught flat footed, as BK shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
BK working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
BK with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
BK working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of McGraw's head.
BK missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
McGraw controlling BK's posture.
BK throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McGraw works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've been hearing good reports from BK's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

BK got a little sloppy there for a moment and McGraw has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, BK has managed to get both his arms back between McGraw's legs - danger averted.
McGraw pulls BK in close to prevent any damage.

BK missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
BK postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
BK lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
BK postures up in McGraw's guard and throws a big left but McGraw blocks it.
BK throwing strikes from guard but McGraw blocks nicely.
McGraw wants to sweep here but BK controlling him for the moment.

McGraw is looking to stand back up but BK counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by McGraw.
BK prevents McGraw from improving his position.
McGraw is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
McGraw wants to control but BK is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McGraw on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
BK throwing shots but McGraw is blocking nicely.
McGraw trying to control but BK postures up.
BK is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
BK sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. McGraw defending well though.
McGraw is trying to get back to full guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. BK connects with a nice short shot to McGraw's temple.


It looks like Bonesaw McGraw has been cut.
McGraw tries to get to full guard but BK has control of the leg.
BK landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
BK winds up and cracks McGraw with a swinging punch to the side of the head.


That has opened up Bonesaw McGraw's cut even more.
McGraw is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of BK's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take BK's back!
BK turns into McGraw and is now in his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
BK trying to control the position from guard on top but McGraw is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
BK with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.


The cut above Bonesaw McGraw's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
McGraw tries to land a sweep but no joy.

McGraw looking to hit a scissor sweep but BK is one step ahead there.
BK landing some decent shots from guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Benjamin BK dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bonesaw McGraw's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


McGraw avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bonesaw McGraw's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Benjamin BK!
A victorious Benjamin BK thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
The defeated Bonesaw McGraw had this to say: 'Bonesaw bows down to no man. It's clear you had the ref in your pocket. Ain't no way Bonesaw is going out like that. Next time you are going down like Bjorn's mom.'.
