Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy McLarnin (ranked 4960 p4p, 469 weight class) and Alonzo Trotter (ranked 3027 p4p, 333 weight class). Alonzo Trotter is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy McLarnin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alonzo Trotter!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trotter swings widly with a right hand
and McLarnin counters with a stiff right hand.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Trotter has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Trotter scores with a punch to the head.
Nice cross by Trotter.

Trotter lands a big uppercut and McLarnin crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but McLarnin looks OK. Trotter waves McLarnin back to his feet!


McLarnin is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Trotter moves into the clinch.
Oh McLarnin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Trotter breaks from the clinch.
McLarnin seems to have got his legs back now.
Trotter on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Trotter fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McLarnin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Trotter misses with a takedown attempt - McLarnin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Alonzo Trotter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Trotter misses with a straight right.
McLarnin seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Trotter tries to bum rush McLarnin with a series of wild strikes but McLarnin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McLarnin is looking to counter the offense by Trotter and move into the clinch.

Trotter digs a good hook to McLarnin's body.
McLarnin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Trotter throws a looping overhand right but McLarnin ducks down to avoid it.
McLarnin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
McLarnin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
McLarnin misses with an uppercut. Trotter saw that one coming.

McLarnin gets tackled into the cage by Trotter. Trotter maintains the clinch.
Trotter is trying to force a seperation but McLarnin has the dominant position.
Trotter tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Trotter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Trotter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McLarnin blocks a jab.

Trotter rushes McLarnin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McLarnin prevents Trotter from breaking the clinch.
Trotter has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Trotter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McLarnin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Trotter.
Trotter shoots in looking for a takedown. McLarnin tries to sprawl out of it but Trotter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McLarnin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McLarnin misses with a wild body shot.

Trotter misses with a hook. McLarnin ducked under it nicely.
McLarnin slips a jab from Trotter.
Trotter looks to land a left hand but McLarnin moved out of range nicely.
A big right from Trotter misses.
Trotter misses the shot to the body.
An attempted straight right counter from McLarnin misses the target.
Trotter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McLarnin throws the left hand but Trotter avoids the punch easily.
Trotter lands a slapping body shot.
McLarnin lands a really nice looking cross but Trotter seems unphased.
Trotter uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McLarnin has time to react.
McLarnin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Trotter as he avoids it easily.
A bone on bone clash there as McLarnin blocks the leg kick.

McLarnin misses with a wild combination.
Trotter connects with a body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McLarnin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Trotter dips to his left and cracks McLarnin with an uppercut!

Trotter manages to break the clinch.
McLarnin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Trotter misses with a wild body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McLarnin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Trotter manages to avoid it.
McLarnin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Trotter circles away quickly and effectively.
Trotter steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from McLarnin.

McLarnin lands a nice shot that snaps Trotter's head back.
McLarnin lands a jab-cross combination.
Trotter throws an off balance right hand
and Trotter takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Trotter connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
McLarnin avoids the head kick by Trotter.
Trotter scores with a hook to the body. McLarnin takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Trotter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McLarnin manages to avoid it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Trotter avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Trotter is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Trotter darts in looking for a takedown but McLarnin gets double underhooks and turns Trotter into the cage.
McLarnin seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Trotter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
McLarnin is looking to counter the offense by Trotter and move into the clinch.

Trotter fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
McLarnin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Jimmy McLarnin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alonzo Trotter.

Trotter drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McLarnin gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Trotter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Alonzo Trotter will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


No joy there for McLarnin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A slow jab from McLarnin misses its intended target.
McLarnin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Trotter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McLarnin moves away.
Trotter scores with a jab to the head.
Trotter jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Trotter cracks McLarnin with a right hand to the side of the head.

and McLarnin counters with an outside leg kick.

McLarnin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Trotter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
McLarnin tries to move into full mount but can't pass Trotter's legs.
McLarnin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Trotter keeps working.

McLarnin passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Trotter!
McLarnin content just to control the position here.
Trotter is squirming around, avoiding McLarnin's attempts to control the action.
Trotter is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
McLarnin trying to control but Trotter is having none of it.

McLarnin working for a submission but Trotter is keeping him at bay.

Trotter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

McLarnin tries to control but Trotter wriggling away.
Trotter flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
McLarnin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Trotter is looking to escape.
McLarnin lands a couple of good shots and Trotter has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
I would not like to be Trotter right now.
McLarnin is landing with strikes. Trotter can't take much more of this.
Jimmy McLarnin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

McLarnin throwing sloppy strikes.
McLarnin not allowing Trotter to control his hands.
McLarnin just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
McLarnin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Trotter for as long as he can get away with.
Alonzo Trotter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
A lull in the action here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McLarnin missing with strikes from the back.
Trotter staying busy and making it hard for McLarnin to control.
McLarnin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Trotter is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
McLarnin keeps control of the position easily here as Trotter tries to buck him off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trotter avoids the strikes from McLarnin.
Trotter is in bad spot here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Trotter trying to control the hands but McLarnin won't let him.
What can Trotter do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
