Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elisha Branch (ranked 25333 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stig Tuft (ranked 5824 p4p, 0 weight class). Elisha Branch has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Elisha Branch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stig Tuft!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tuft misses with a combination
and Branch counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Tuft clinches.
Tuft can't break the clinch.
Branch is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tuft gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The referee calls for Tuft to work.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Tuft as Branch tries to tie him up.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Tuft wants to break free but Branch has control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tuft is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Branch can't fight it off and eventually Tuft manages to take the fight to the floor. Branch looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Tuft stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Branch swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Branch controls Tuft momentarily but Tuft frees himself.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Tuft drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Branch bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Branch is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Tuft tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stig Tuft seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Branch is fighting off a takedown attempt but Tuft is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Branch to the mat. Branch regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Branch pushes Tuft off and gets back to his feet.
Branch fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
As Branch backs off Tuft throws a huge counter combo but Branch manages to avoid it all.

Tuft shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Branch manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Branch tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Tuft not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Branch has his foot on Tuft's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tuft works his way back into a safe position though.
Branch is breathing heavily.
Tuft is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
It looks like Tuft might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Tuft postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Branch is looking for a triangle but Tuft pushes his legs off easily.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Stig Tuft will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Tuft gets a double leg takedown into Branch's guard.
Tuft must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Branch can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Tuft controls the pace.
Tuft loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Branch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tuft manages to get himself to full guard.

Tuft really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Branch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Branch got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tuft has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Branch has managed to get both his arms back between Tuft's legs - danger averted.
Branch lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Stig Tuft has got the better of the ground game so far.
Branch has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tuft is proving hard to escape from.
Tuft pulls Branch in to control the position.

Tuft seems keen to control Branch's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Branch really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tuft trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Tuft gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Tuft gets control of Branch's arms and successfully pulls guard. Tuft will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Tuft wriggles free and stands up.

Branch slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tuft seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Branch is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stig Tuft showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Tuft blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Branch stalling in the clinch but Tuft improves position.
Tuft has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Tuft tightens his grip and picks Branch up, before dumping him to the ground. Branch manages to land in guard.

Branch is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tuft is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Tuft stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Branch swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Branch gets caught flat footed, as Tuft shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Tuft is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tuft accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Tuft wants to get up but he can't break Branch's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Branch controls Tuft momentarily but Tuft frees himself.
Branch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Tuft looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Branch on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Elisha Branch has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stig Tuft is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well Tuft has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
