Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Wyderko (ranked 25054 p4p, 0 weight class) and Salaiman Firouzadeh (ranked 4231 p4p, 0 weight class). Salaiman Firouzadeh told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Salaiman Firouzadeh!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wyderko tries to score a power double leg takedown but Firouzadeh sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wyderko somewhat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wyderko.
Firouzadeh gets a clinch.
Wyderko has Firouzadeh pressed against the cage, preventing Firouzadeh from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Firouzadeh tries a body shot but Wyderko blocks it.
Wyderko keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Firouzadeh's efforts to push away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Firouzadeh is trying to trip Wyderko. He has hold of a leg but Wyderko is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Firouzadeh persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Firouzadeh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wyderko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Firouzadeh rushes Wyderko and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Firouzadeh struggles to land a body shot inside as Wyderko controls his hands.
Wyderko tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Firouzadeh smiles and moves away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Firouzadeh is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wyderko tries to get to full guard but Firouzadeh has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Firouzadeh wants to free his trapped foot but Wyderko is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Firouzadeh content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Firouzadeh is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wyderko doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Firouzadeh.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wyderko.

Firouzadeh fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Wyderko is out of range.

A nice side step and Firouzadeh releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Salaiman Firouzadeh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Firouzadeh moves into the clinch.
Firouzadeh is trying to push Wyderko away but Wyderko has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Wyderko tries to pull guard but Firouzadeh holds him up against the cage and eventually Wyderko drops back down to his feet.
Wyderko drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Firouzadeh gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Firouzadeh ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Firouzadeh no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Wyderko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Firouzadeh has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wyderko has managed to get both his arms back between Firouzadeh's legs - danger averted.

Wyderko thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Firouzadeh is looking to advance position but Wyderko has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Firouzadeh wants to control but Wyderko is having none of it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Firouzadeh can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wyderko blocks Firouzadeh's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Firouzadeh postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wyderko is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Firouzadeh, into his guard.
Firouzadeh pulls Wyderko in close to his closed guard and prevents Wyderko from doing any damage or advancing position.
Justin Wyderko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Salaiman Firouzadeh is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Salaiman Firouzadeh.
Well Firouzadeh has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
