Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Luis Perez Saavedra!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yurk misses with a few strikes there.
Nice takedown defense from Saavedra. No joy for Yurk on that attempt.
Saavedra clinches up with Yurk and pushes him back against the cage.

Yurk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Yurk closes the distance and clinches up with Saavedra, looking for a takedown. Yurk pushes Saavedra against the cage but Saavedra circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Saavedra stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Saavedra wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maykol Yurk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Saavedra shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Saavedra was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Yurk bucks up and tries to throw Saavedra off but instead Saavedra has got his back!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yurk can't escape the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yurk wants to control his opponent's hands but Saavedra gets his hands free.

Saavedra is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Yurk knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Yurk for a finish.
