Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cian Cartwright (ranked 2977 p4p, 316 weight class) and Billy Marques (ranked 3078 p4p, 326 weight class). Cartwright comes to the cage accompanied by Engulfed by Darkness. Marques has chosen Raining Blood as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright fails with a takedown attempt.
Cartwright tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marques sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cartwright somewhat.
Cartwright misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cian Cartwright. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cartwright is looking to clinch.
Marques misses with a lunging right hand

and Cartwright counters by clinching up.

Cartwright turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Marques wants to control but Cartwright postures up.

Cartwright tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Marques is rocked!
Cartwright cracks Marques with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Marques is still in real trouble! Can Cartwright finish him?
Cartwright lands a strong strike to the head of Marques. That's dazed him! Cartwright looking to finish here. Marques is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Cartwright lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

After winning the bout, Cian Cartwright thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
In defeat, Billy Marques stepped up to the mic, saying 'I would like to apologize to my fans for what they witnessed here tonight. I am A LOT better than what you all seen here, trust me, the next time I step inside this octagon, you will witness something you've never seen before. MARK MY WORDS!'.
