Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tomas Bendayho (ranked 3708 p4p, 373 weight class) and Dick Diaz (ranked 2798 p4p, 304 weight class). Diaz has chosen Feiticeira as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bendayho avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bendayho is looking for a counter combo.
Diaz uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bendayho has time to react.
A big left from Bendayho misses.
Diaz's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bendayho connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Diaz scrambles back to his feet.
Bendayho feints a jab promting Diaz to slip. Bendayho then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Diaz slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Diaz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bendayho.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Diaz has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Bendayho throws a body shot but no joy.

Bendayho throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Diaz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Diaz throws out a loose jab but Bendayho uses good head movement to avoid it.

Oh but Diaz is tightening it up a little... Bendayho has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bendayho reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bendayho taps out! Nice BJJ there by Diaz!

Dick Diaz decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
