Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimi Powell (ranked 605 p4p, 30 weight class) and William King (ranked 641 p4p, 32 weight class). Powell's entrance music is 8 Mile. A fine choice. King has chosen Summer Sixteen By: Drake as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 19 - 3, fighting out of Montreal, William King!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King leaves Powell with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

King throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by King.
Powell dives in for a single leg takedown but King sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Powell's hands are dropping dangerously low here and King connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Powell scrambles back to his feet.
Powell takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Powell takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Powell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. King sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from King! But no joy.

King connects with a nice looking jab.
A big left from Powell misses.

Powell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Powell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
King pushes Powell away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Powell gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

A close second round but William King will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Powell stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and King has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Powell manages to get his head free but now King has transitioned to an armbar! Powell grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from King! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 4, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). William King!
William King was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
