Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Awesome Dick (ranked 4833 p4p, 398 weight class) and Randy Savage (ranked 3414 p4p, 299 weight class). Savage has chosen Pomp & Circumstance as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Awesome Dick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randy Savage!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Dick with that takedown attempt.
Savage changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Dick clinches up against the cage.
I was talking to Dick's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Dick tries for a takedown but Savage manages to get underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dick escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Dick closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Dick lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Savage pushes Dick off looking to stand but Dick dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dick connects with a nice short shot to Savage's temple.

Dick is looking for a kimura but Savage is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dick to get the leverage.
Savage has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dick is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dick just misses with a punch to the body.

Dick avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Savage.
Dick tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Savage wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Dick is trying hard to land a takedown here. Savage sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Savage tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Randy Savage has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Awesome Dick is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Awesome Dick.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dick, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
