Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diego Llamas (ranked 3829 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fransisco Gonzalez (ranked 4665 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Diego Llamas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fransisco Gonzalez!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Llamas throws a big counter combination but Gonzalez scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Gonzalez misses with a takedown
and Llamas counters with a straight right hand.
Gonzalez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Gonzalez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Llamas quickly recovers to half guard.
Gonzalez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Llamas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Llamas tries to get to full guard but Gonzalez has control of the leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gonzalez connects with a nice short shot to Llamas's temple.
Gonzalez is looking to take a break and control but Llamas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gonzalez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Llamas misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Llamas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gonzalez pulls his head out easily.
Llamas is looking to control Gonzalez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Llamas avoid being mounted?
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gonzalez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Llamas misses with a takedown attempt - Gonzalez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gonzalez is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Gonzalez has closed the distance and engaged Llamas in a clinch.
Gonzalez gets through Llamas's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Llamas tries to pull guard but Gonzalez won't allow it.

Gonzalez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gonzalez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Llamas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Llamas trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonzalez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Gonzalez has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Llamas is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gonzalez.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Llamas working the ground and pound but Gonzalez is defending the strikes.
Gonzalez is pushing Llamas's head away, looking to escape. Llamas manages to hold on to the position though.

Llamas is trying to get an arm triangle but Gonzalez is defending well.
Gonzalez wants to control but Llamas postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gonzalez sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

BOOM! Gonzalez connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Gonzalez throws some wild stikes that Llamas manages to avoid easily.

Gonzalez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gonzalez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Llamas can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Fransisco Gonzalez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Llamas slaps away a takedown attempt from Gonzalez, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Gonzalez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Llamas on his heels. He'll look to pass Llamas's guard now, I'm sure.

Llamas blocks the elbow strike.

Gonzalez gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Llamas regains guard.
Gonzalez wants to pass the guard but Llamas is keeping the position.

Gonzalez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Gonzalez dives in and grabs Llamas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Llamas pushes down on Gonzalez's head and hops out.
Llamas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gonzalez avoids it really well and circles away.
Gonzalez steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Llamas.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Llamas enables Gonzalez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Llamas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gonzalez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Gonzalez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Llamas trying to stall but Gonzalez improves his position.
Gonzalez tries to land a knee to the head but Llamas blocks with his arms.
Gonzalez lands with a right to the head.
A shot in the inside from Gonzalez.
Llamas prevents a takedown attempt there.
Diego Llamas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fransisco Gonzalez.

Gonzalez has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Llamas regains guard immediately.

Well Gonzalez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
