PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Jacques Durand (ranked 20080 p4p, 574 weight class) and Big Bobby (ranked 21305 p4p, 591 weight class). Durand comes to the ring accompanied by Kaaris - S.E.V.R.A.N.. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bobby ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Durand moves away.
Bobby missing with a left hand there. Durand was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Durand is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
A jab from Durand does it's job there.
Bobby throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Durand sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bobby throws a hook but Durand avoids it easily.
Bobby misses with a wild body shot.

Durand swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Bobby looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Bobby throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bobby steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Durand. That one must have hurt.

Bobby might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bobby is looking to control Durand's arms but Durand gets an underhook and turns him. Now Bobby has his back to the ropes.
Durand throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Our sources have told us that Durand has been working on his elbows in the gym.
Durand looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Bobby lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Durand.
Bobby gets through Durand's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

That was a close round but I would say that Jacques Durand will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Big Bobby's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bobby throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Durand throws a head kick but Bobby moves out of range.

Durand stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jacques Durand is winning the standup battle so far.
Durand pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Durand stuns Bobby with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Bobby looks to throw the jab but Durand is out of range.
Durand throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bobby! But no joy.
Durand lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Durand here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Bobby throws a hook to the side of Durand's head but Durand sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Durand tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Bobby manages to circle out of the way.
Durand scores with a hook to the body. Bobby takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Durand is looking to wear down Bobby with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Bobby lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Durand throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bobby lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Durand backs up against the ropes.
Bobby misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Durand.
Bobby walks forward, straight into a front kick from Durand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bobby misses the jab.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Bobby misses with a punch to the body.
Bobby has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Durand.
Bobby blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Durand tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Bobby avoids it.

Durand manages to break the clinch.
Good leg kick by Durand there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bobby throws out a loose jab but Durand uses good head movement to avoid it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Bobby lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Durand has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Durand and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Jacques Durand showed his dominance in that final round.
