Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacek Kaniecki (ranked 23894 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shoei Braz (ranked 4377 p4p, 0 weight class). Shoei Braz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jacek Kaniecki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shoei Braz!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Braz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Braz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kaniecki stuffs the takedown.
Kaniecki appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Braz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Braz seems to be working for a kimura but Kaniecki defends the submission attempt.
Kaniecki is looking for a sweep. Braz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Braz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Braz is working for a kimura but Kaniecki is defending it quite comfortably.

Braz wants to work for an arm triangle but Kaniecki is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kaniecki pushes Braz off looking to stand but Braz dives back in and keeps control.

Braz is looking for a kimura but Kaniecki is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Braz to get the leverage.

Braz is working for a kimura but Kaniecki is defending it quite comfortably.

Braz seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Kaniecki has recovered full guard.

Braz has gone for a leg lock! Kaniecki slips out almost immediately though and dives into Braz's guard.


Braz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kaniecki defends it easily.
Kaniecki engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Braz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kaniecki trying to control the position from guard on top but Braz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Braz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kaniecki gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kaniecki decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Braz, up you get!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Braz goes for a double leg but Kaniecki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kaniecki continues to drive forward.
Jacek Kaniecki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shoei Braz.
Braz shoots in looking for a takedown but Kaniecki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Braz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Braz takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like Shoei Braz has been cut.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Braz crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kaniecki - the referee stops the clock and Braz gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kaniecki. Braz manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Braz dives in and grabs Kaniecki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kaniecki pushes down on Braz's head and hops out.

Braz tries for a takedown but Kaniecki circles away easily
and Kaniecki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Braz looks winded!

and Kaniecki counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Kaniecki counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kaniecki lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Braz backs up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Shoei Braz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kaniecki lands a slapping body shot.
Kaniecki throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Kaniecki cracks Braz with a good jab.
Kaniecki scores with a crisp jab that stopped Braz in his tracks.


That has opened up Shoei Braz's cut even more.
Braz tries for a takedown but Kaniecki circles away easily
enabling Kaniecki to counter with a crisp jab.
Braz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kaniecki swivels and escapes.
A cross from Kaniecki lands.
Braz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kaniecki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Braz takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

and Kaniecki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kaniecki is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Kaniecki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Braz changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Braz is defended easily by Kaniecki.
Kaniecki throws a big counter combination but Braz scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Braz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kaniecki was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Braz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kaniecki but Kaniecki pushes him off and we're back to square one.
It looked like Kaniecki wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Jacek Kaniecki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shoei Braz.

Braz drives through with a takedown into Kaniecki's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Braz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kaniecki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Braz has managed to get both his arms back between Kaniecki's legs - danger averted.
We've been informed that Braz has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Kaniecki will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Braz drops back looking for a leg! Kaniecki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kaniecki manages to kick Braz off! Braz jumps back into Kaniecki's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kaniecki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Braz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kaniecki wants to get back to his feet but Braz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Braz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Braz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Braz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kaniecki, who protects the arm well.

Braz is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kaniecki is trying to escape and Braz transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kaniecki is forced to tap! Nice work there by Braz! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Shoei Braz!
Shoei Braz gave a mention to KnockOut in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
