Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Sanchez (ranked 1377 p4p, 162 weight class) and Gary Day (ranked 1958 p4p, 225 weight class). Sanchez comes to the cage accompanied by Where is My Mind? by Pixies. Day has chosen Last minute - Great day to choke you out as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Day has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sanchez connects with a nice short shot to Day's temple.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steve Sanchez.
Well Sanchez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
