Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Custavo Ramos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fransisco Gonzalez!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonzalez closes the distance and clinches.
Ramos can't break the clinch.
Ramos wants to get back to striking at distance but Gonzalez won't allow it.

Ramos is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Gonzalez is keeping busy.

Gonzalez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Left hook, right uppercut from Gonzalez.
Ramos fails with the takedown.
Gonzalez appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ramos gets caught flat footed, as Gonzalez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Gonzalez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ramos misses with a few strikes there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ramos is trying to pull guard but Gonzalez has him pressed against the cage.

Gonzalez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gonzalez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ramos tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gonzalez is in Ramos's guard.

Ramos has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gonzalez off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Gonzalez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gonzalez showed some decent athleticism there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Let's hope that Gonzalez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Ramos kicks off Gonzalez and gets to his feet.
Gonzalez takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Ramos shoots in and drives through. Gonzalez sprawls well.
It seemed like Gonzalez was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Custavo Ramos. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gonzalez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ramos did well to prevent Gonzalez getting side control.
Ramos could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ramos has a hand on Gonzalez's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Gonzalez takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Gonzalez is pressed up against the cage. Ramos has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gonzalez down to the mat. Gonzalez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Gonzalez drives through with a takedown into Ramos's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Gonzalez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Gonzalez stands up and waves to Ramos to follow him.

Gonzalez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ramos's half guard.
Ramos is looking to get back to is feet but Gonzalez passes into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ramos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gonzalez on the ground.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ramos throws a body kick that misses.

Gonzalez drives through and clinches with Ramos against the cage.
Ramos tries to pull guard but Gonzalez holds him up against the cage and eventually Ramos drops back down to his feet.
Gonzalez misses with a knee to the head.

Gonzalez tightens his grip and picks Ramos up, before dumping him to the ground. Ramos manages to land in guard.
Ramos is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Gonzalez dives into side control.


Gonzalez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gonzalez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ramos tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Gonzalez content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ramos tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Ramos tries to hold on but Gonzalez postures up.

Gonzalez has hold of Ramos's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ramos manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Gonzalez is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Gonzalez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ramos.
Ramos tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gonzalez swivels and escapes.

Ramos bucks up and tries to throw Gonzalez off but instead Gonzalez has got his back!

Ramos is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Gonzalez.

Gonzalez has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ramos has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Gonzalez connects with a big shot to the side of Ramos's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fransisco Gonzalez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
