Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hone Huia (ranked 2254 p4p, 260 weight class) and Aloysius Wiremu (ranked 3462 p4p, 364 weight class). Huia comes to the cage accompanied by Poi E - Patea Maori Club. Wiremu has chosen Billy Joel - The River of Dreams as his entrance music. Aloysius Wiremu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiremu pushes Huia up against the cage in a clinch.
Huia lands a left hand that snaps the head of Wiremu backwards.
Wiremu tries to throw a body punch but Huia avoids it by throwing Wiremu back against the cage.
Huia tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Wiremu throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Huias head.

Wiremu lands with a right to the head.
Huia lands a right hand that snaps the head of Wiremu backwards.

Still in the clinch, Huia scores with a nice short uppercut.

A nice side step and Wiremu releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Horrible takedown attempt by Huia or perhaps it was just good defense by Wiremu, which made it look bad.

Huia has picked Wiremu up - he's going for a ride! Huia dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Huia is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Huia wants to work for an arm triangle but Wiremu is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Wiremu is trying to control but can't.
Huia wants to free his trapped foot but Wiremu is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Huia works his way into side control.

Wiremu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Huia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
