Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gerald Butler (ranked 24492 p4p, 653 weight class) and Luke Rammun (ranked 5428 p4p, 508 weight class). Luke Rammun has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gerald Butler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Rammun!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Butler rushes Rammun and presses him up against the cage.
Rammun prevents the takedown attempt.

Butler is stalling here. Rammun is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Butler seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rammun has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rammun is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Butler has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Butler!

Butler gets to his feet - Rammun follows without any prompting.
Rammun tries to close the distance and clinch up but Butler swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Butler changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rammun fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Butler has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Rammun after a bit of a struggle.

Rammun escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rammun looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Butler is fending him off so far but Rammun persists. Nope, Butler circles away and we're back to standing.
Gerald Butler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Rammun.

Butler takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Butler's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
