The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lima swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lima clobbers Fusco with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Lima throws a predictable looking body shot
and Fusco connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fusco throws a lazy right hand but Lima sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
And Lima responds with a good body kick, but Fusco manages to step out the way in time.

Fusco fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lima manages to avoid it.

Fusco is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lima.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lima has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Rosario Fusco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lima drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lima jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It looked like Fusco was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Lima.
Fusco is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lima can do to turn this around?

Fusco is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Lima flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Lima is out cold! Fusco holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
