Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Armstrong (ranked 5094 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bessandro Kennelly (ranked 4338 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lucas Armstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bessandro Kennelly!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Armstrong darts in and clinches Kennelly up against the cage.
Armstrong prevents a body shot from Kennelly.
Armstrong doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Armstrong tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kennelly avoids it.
Kennelly on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Kennelly managing to block the knees to the body from Armstrong.
Kennelly looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Kennelly trying to stall but Armstrong improves his position.
Armstrong working aggressively here.
Armstrong is leaning against Kennelly and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Kennelly throws an elbow but it misses.

Kennelly manages to break the clinch.

Kennelly rushes Armstrong and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kennelly tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Armstrong misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kennelly.
Kennelly tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

It looks like Bessandro Kennelly has been cut.
Armstrong tries to land a knee to the head but Kennelly blocks with his arms.

Kennelly manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Armstrong is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Armstrong wants to stand but Kennelly is controlling his posture from full guard.
Armstrong definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kennelly bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Armstrong's guard.

Kennelly not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Kennelly thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kennelly is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kennelly prevents Armstrong from getting back to his feet.
Kennelly throws a strike but Armstrong rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kennelly holds on and takes a little breather.
Armstrong wants to control from the top but Kennelly keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kennelly throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Armstrong escapes and throws Kennelly's legs to the side, diving into side control!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kennelly is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Armstrong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kennelly on the ground.

Armstrong stands up and beckons Kennelly to his feet.
Armstrong fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kennelly pushes Armstrong up against the cage in a clinch.
Kennelly goes for a takedown attempt but Armstrong pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kennelly lands with a right hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Armstrong moves into the clinch.
Kennelly tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Armstrong just stands there and leans against the cage.
Lucas Armstrong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bessandro Kennelly.

Kennelly is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Armstrong lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kennelly backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Armstrong comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Armstrong scores with a shoulder strike.


That has opened up Bessandro Kennelly's cut even more.

Kennelly breaks from the clinch.
Kennelly throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas Armstrong dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bessandro Kennelly's cut.
That's time! Armstrong's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kennelly shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Armstrong as he avoids it easily.
Armstrong throws a big counter combination but Kennelly scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kennelly is defended easily by Armstrong.

Kennelly moves into the clinch.
The referee calls for Kennelly to work.
Armstrong lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kennelly backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kennelly wants to get back to striking at distance but Armstrong won't allow it.
Armstrong is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kennelly can do to turn this around?

Armstrong lands an elbow inside that Kennelly shrugs off.
Armstrong creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Kennelly with a big uppercut! Kennelly tries to clinch up but Armstrong pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Kennelly to the mat! Kennelly covers up and Armstrong unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Lucas Armstrong!
