Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Masaya Kubo (ranked 3987 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davon Jonhson (ranked 7963 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kubo shoots for a takedown but Jonhson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jonhson wants to counter with a clinch but Kubo pushes him away.
Kubo lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kubo.
Kubo throws a looping overhand right but Jonhson ducks down to avoid it.

Kubo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jonhson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kubo has Jonhson in his guard.

Kubo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jonhson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Kubo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jonhson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kubo wants to control from the top but Jonhson keeps moving.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jonhson pulls Kubo in close to his closed guard and prevents Kubo from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Masaya Kubo.
I think Kubo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
