The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Lawson duly obliges.
Lawson lands with a shot to the body.
Lawson swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Lawson seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Jokic pushes Lawson up against the cage in a clinch.
Jokic swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Jokic tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Jokic misses with the head strike.
Still in the clinch, Jokic scores with a nice short uppercut.
Jokic swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Jokic misses with a hook to the ribs.

Lawson manages to break the clinch.
Jokic leaves Lawson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lawson gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Jokic fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lawson, pushing him back against the cage.
Lawson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jokic throws a punch but it's blocked by Lawson.

Nikola Jokic is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jokic gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Jokic tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Lawson is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Jokic buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Jokic!! Jokic is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Lawson throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
