Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocket Bob Frankels (ranked 41 p4p, 3 weight class) and Keith Bishop (ranked 334 p4p, 15 weight class). Frankels's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Dawn....Summer Solstice... . The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rocket Bob Frankels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keith Bishop!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frankels throws a body punch but Bishop moves out of range.
Bishop slips a jab from Frankels.
Frankels throws an off balance right hand
and Bishop counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Frankels uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bishop.
Frankels moves away from the strike by Bishop.
Bishop takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


It looks like Keith Bishop has been cut.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frankels throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Frankels buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Frankels has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Frankels throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bishop.
Frankels throws a looping overhand right but Bishop ducks down to avoid it.

and Bishop counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bishop lands a nice looking body shot.
Frankels misses with a hook. Bishop ducked under it nicely.
Bishop appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

and Frankels counters with a slapping leg kick.
Rocket Bob Frankels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bishop tries to close the distance and clinch but Frankels swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A quick step to the side and Frankels tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bishop uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.


It looks like Rocket Bob Frankels has been cut.
Bishop throws a big shot that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bishop connects with an inside leg kick.
Bishop throws a head kick but Frankels moves out of range.
Bishop misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Frankels.
Bishop moves in looking to clinch but Frankels pushes him off.
Bishop takes a shot right to the bread basket.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Frankels scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Frankels throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bishop gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Bishop throws a leg kick but Frankels sees it coming and moves out of range.

Nice uppercut there from Bishop.

That has opened up Keith Bishop's cut even more.
Frankels blocks a jab.
Frankels feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Bishop staying out of range there.
Frankels misses with a hook.
Frankels misses with a left hand
enabling Bishop to counter with a crisp jab.
Frankels misses with a hook. Bishop ducked under it nicely.
Frankels tests Bishop's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Frankels throws an off balance right hand
and Bishop counters with a leg kick.
Bishop lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Bishop takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bishop doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Frankels lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A telegraphed right hand from Frankels misses the target.

Frankels instigates a clinch.
Frankels throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Bishop misses with a hook from the clinch.
Bishop tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Frankels blocks a body shot from Bishop.
A short right from Bishop.
Frankels lands a left hand.
Bishop scores with a nice hook to the head.
Bishop lands with a right to the head.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Frankels.
Frankels tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rocket Bob Frankels will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Frankels throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bishop.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bishop! But no joy.
Frankels throws a shot to the body.
Bishop misses with a straight right.
Frankels throws a nice head kick!
Frankels moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Frankels feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Bishop's calf.
Frankels lands a jab.


The cut above Keith Bishop's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frankels throws a body shot but no joy.
Frankels jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Frankels turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bishop throws the left hand but Frankels avoids the punch easily.
Frankels looks to land a right hand but Bishop moved out of range.
Frankels takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Frankels is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bishop.
It seemed like Bishop was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Frankels cracks a nice hook into Bishop's ribs.
Bishop is breathing heavily.
Bishop takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Frankels tests Bishop's chin there with a solid looking shot.


Keith Bishop's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Keith Bishop's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Rocket Bob Frankels!
Rocket Bob Frankels spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
