Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Martin Sedlacek (ranked 3650 p4p, 141 weight class) and Ted Cruz (ranked 5286 p4p, 199 weight class). Ted Cruz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Martin Sedlacek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ted Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz scores with a one two! Sedlacek had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Cruz scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Sedlacek is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cruz knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sedlacek working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Cruz wants to get back to his feet but Sedlacek drags him back down.

Sedlacek wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cruz keeps working.

Sedlacek thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Cruz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sedlacek has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cruz has managed to get both his arms back between Sedlacek's legs - danger averted.

Sedlacek escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cruz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sedlacek throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cruz escapes and throws Sedlacek's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Sedlacek is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Martin Sedlacek will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Sedlacek shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cruz sprawls well. Cruz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sedlacek gets slowly back to his feet.
Cruz misses with a series of wild punches.
Cruz lands with a nice body punch.
Cruz lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Cruz cracks Sedlacek with an open hand slap.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cruz lands a jab-cross combination.

Sedlacek throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cruz was covering up waiting for the punch and Sedlacek finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sedlacek won't allow Cruz to get back to his feet.

Sedlacek has gone for a leg lock! Cruz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sedlacek's guard.

Sedlacek has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Cruz doesn't defend quickly enough and Sedlacek has managed to lock this one up! Can Cruz escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Sedlacek on a fantastic submission victory.
