The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunc shoots in for a takedown but Lappers shows good takedown defense.
Dunc doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Lappers counters by moving into the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Lappers.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Lappers.
Dunc goes for a takedown attempt but Lappers pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Chris Lappers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Dunc.
Lappers connects with a body shot that sends Dunc's belly button to the back.
Lappers lands a jab to the nose.
Dunc takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Dunc looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Dunc shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lappers as he jumps to the side.
Lappers changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Dunc shoots in but Lappers avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lappers swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dunc.

Lappers throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Lappers keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kyle Dunc seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lappers, right into the meat.
Lappers throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Dunc drives through with a takedown into Lappers's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Dunc drops back looking for a leg! Lappers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lappers manages to kick Dunc off! Dunc jumps back into Lappers's guard.

Dunc is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lappers is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lappers has escaped and now he's on top!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dunc working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lappers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lappers manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dunc has his feet on Lappers's thighs here. He's pushed Lappers off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Lappers screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
