These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wilson as he jumps to the side.
Wilson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.
Jones works over Wilson's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Wayne Wilson has been cut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Wilson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jones missing with a left hand there. Wilson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wilson moves away.
Wilson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Jones shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Jones lands a two punch combo.
Jones tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Wilson is able to avoid easily.
Wilson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Wilson there as he acknowledges the shot.
Wilson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jones takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Jones throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Wilson's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Jones dives in looking to finish as Wilson flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Jones's strikes! Jones is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Wilson's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Wilson was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
