The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Augustus .
Matazz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Matazz digs a good body shot into Augustus 's ribs.
Augustus tries to clinch but Matazz moves out of range.
Augustus tries for a takedown but Matazz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Matazz scores with a head kick. Augustus tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Matazz throws a sloppy head kick and Augustus moves out of range easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Augustus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Matazz is fending him off so far but Augustus persists. Nope, Matazz circles away and we're back to standing.

Augustus has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Rabid Dog in the buildup to the fight.
Augustus tries to score a power double leg takedown but Matazz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Augustus somewhat.

Matazz throws a nice looking combination but Augustus bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Augustus is looking to counter the offense by Matazz and move into the clinch.
Augustus throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Matazz counters with a series of strikes. Augustus will be more careful next time no doubt.
Augustus looks for a takedown but Matazz sprawls well.
Matazz is looking to slow Augustus down with leg kicks.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Augustus .
Augustus has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Matazz finds it's way round the side to connect with Augustus 's head.
Augustus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Matazz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Augustus goes for a double leg but Matazz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Matazz continues to drive forward.

Augustus takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Matazz throws a looping overhand right but Augustus ducks down to avoid it.
Augustus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Augustus will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Matazz fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Augustus checks it well.
Matazz motions for Augustus to come forward. Matazz throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Matazz - that will leave a mark!
Augustus tries to clinch but Matazz is having none of it.
Augustus avoids a punch combination nicely.
Left hook, right uppercut from Matazz.

Matazz throws a half hearted mid kick.
Augustus fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Matazz appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Augustus chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Matazz can pounce on him.
Matazz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Augustus rushes Matazz and presses him up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Augustus manages to pull guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Matazz working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Matazz stands and steps away. Augustus gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Razza Matazz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Augustus gets a takedown into half guard.

Matazz makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

That's time! Augustus 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Matazz connects with a good right hand that stumbles Augustus . Augustus circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

DJ Augustus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Augustus fails with the takedown.

Matazz drops Augustus with a beautiful combination! Augustus stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Matazz is looking for the KO!

Augustus is rocked!
Matazz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Augustus gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Matazz gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Augustus is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

A very excited looking Razza Matazz rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
