Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Laxa Tiv (ranked 3040 p4p, 280 weight class) and Gervonta Davis (ranked 5132 p4p, 385 weight class). Laxa Tiv has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiv misses with a hook
and Davis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Davis walks into a stiff left hand from Tiv.

Tiv shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Davis's guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Tiv's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

A looping hook to the body misses from Davis. Tiv does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tiv shoots in for a takedown but Davis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Davis leaves Tiv with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Davis missing with a left hand there. Tiv was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Tiv feints and as Davis raises his hands in defense, Tiv changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
