Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Power Max (ranked 24139 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Day (ranked 22334 p4p, 0 weight class). Power Max could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Julian Day's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Power Max!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Day!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Max looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Day is trying to stand.
Max wants to stand but Day has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Day is refusing to be controlled, as Max sits in half guard.
Day is trying to stand up here but Max is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Max tries to pass to full mount but Day defends it.
Max tries to stand and escape but Day is controlling the position.

Max is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Day pushes Max off looking to stand but Max dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Max shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Day makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Day gets caught napping as Max dives in and scores a takedown. Day manages to retain guard.
Day wants to get back to his feet but Max passes into half guard.

Day shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Max pinned against the cage. Max gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nice sprawl there from Max as Day shoots in.
Day shoots for a double leg takedown but Max sprawls well. He's pushed Day's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Power Max has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julian Day.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Day goes for a double leg but Max avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Max continues to drive forward.

Day tries to score a power double leg takedown but Max sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Day somewhat.
Max seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Max throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Day was covering up waiting for the punch and Max finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Day is looking to stand back up but Max counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Day.
Max is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Day can do to turn this around?

Day changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Max tries to avoid it but Day manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Max to the ground. Max escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Max is trying to keep Day in close.
Day is fighting to break Max's control of his arms but Max is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Max throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Max is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Day decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Day changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Max tries to avoid it but Day manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Max to the ground. Max escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Day fails to land the takedown.
Day shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Max as he jumps to the side.

Max shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Day's guard.
Day wants to stand but Max is controlling the position.

Max is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Max trying to control the position from guard on top but Day is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Max passes Day's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Max shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Day as he avoids it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Day is defended easily by Max.

Max looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Day tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Max swivels and escapes.
Power Max has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julian Day.
No luck for Day with that takedown attempt.

Day gets caught napping as Max dives in and scores a takedown. Day manages to retain guard.

Max throws an elbow that misses. Day uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Max's guard. Nice move by Day!

Day wanted to stand there but Max had control of the position.

Max is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Max not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Day gets to his feet - Max follows without any prompting.
Day blocks a head kick by Max.
Day fails with a takedown attempt.
Day changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Max tries to avoid it but Day manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Max to the ground. Max escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Day shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Max napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Max can't do much from the bottom here.

Max tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Day wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Max tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Day easily slips into full mount!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Max wants to hold on but Day pushes him away.
Max working to try and regain half guard.
Max wants to control but Day is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Day prevents Max from getting the reversal.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Power Max.
Well Max has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
