The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearson throws a right and a left that McLarnin avoids nicely.
McLarnin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

We've been hearing good reports from McLarnin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Pearson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McLarnin.

McLarnin is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Pearson tries to bum rush McLarnin with a series of wild strikes but McLarnin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Pearson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

McLarnin is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Pearson.

Pearson feints a jab promting McLarnin to slip. Pearson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. McLarnin slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
McLarnin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from McLarnin there as he acknowledges the shot.
McLarnin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
McLarnin punishes Pearson's body with a nice straight punch.
McLarnin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pearson misses with a hook. McLarnin ducked under it nicely.

McLarnin tries to counter by clinching up but Pearson breaks away and moves out of range.
McLarnin takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Pearson tries to bum rush McLarnin with a series of wild strikes but McLarnin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pearson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McLarnin had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Pearson is rocked!
Pearson is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. McLarnin doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Pearson crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Pearson's bad books for that mishap!
