Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between The Sigit (ranked 35 p4p, 9 weight class) and Lee Sin (ranked 205 p4p, 35 weight class). Sigit comes to the cage accompanied by Gie. Sin has chosen Original Nuttah as his entrance music. Lee Sin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 21 - 2, fighting out of New York, The Sigit!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Lee Sin!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sin lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Nice body kick from Sin.
We've been hearing reports that Sigit has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
A big left from Sigit misses.
Lee Sin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sin lands a nice hook to Sigit's body. Sigit takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Sin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sin tries to land a front kick but Sigit steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sigit bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Sigit looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Sin!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sigit connects with a nice short shot to Sin's temple.

Sin controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Sigit uses his free foot to push down on Sin's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sin.
Sigit avoids the attempt from Sin to control.
Sigit lands a big shot there that rocks Sin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Sin regains half guard.
Sin won't allow Sigit to pass to mount.

Sigit is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Sigit missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Sigit is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sin!

Sigit fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Sin regains half guard.
Sigit wants to free his trapped foot but Sin is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sigit looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Sin desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Sigit is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sin wants to sweep here but Sigit controlling him for the moment.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Sin wants to slow Sigit down by chopping away at his legs.
Sigit shoots in looking for a takedown. Sin tries to sprawl out of it but Sigit keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sigit takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Sin thuds a left hand into Sigit's body.
Sigit takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Sin throws out a loose jab but Sigit uses good head movement to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sigit dives in for a single leg takedown but Sin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Sin lands a head kick. Sigit smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like The Sigit has been cut.

Sigit is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sin's half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sigit looks to land a strike but Sin avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Sigit throws a big elbow that misses.
Sin trying to control the position.
Sigit stopping the sweep attempt from Sin.
Sigit with a flurry of punches that miss.
Sigit is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sin can do to turn this around?
Sin has momentary wrist control but Sigit slips an elbow through the middle.

Sigit keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sin's head.
Sigit has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sigit prevents Sin from getting back to his feet.
Sigit lands a couple of digs.
Sigit passes Sin's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Sin is pressing down on Sigit's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Sigit wants to pass the guard but Sin is keeping the position.

Sigit drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sigit has Sin in his guard.

Sigit throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sin escapes and throws Sigit's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Sigit tries to bench press Sin off him but Sin keeps the position.
A lull in the action here as Sin stalls from top position.
Sigit tries to improve position but can't.
Sigit is not content to let Sin control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sigit tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Sigit gets back to half guard.
Sin slows the pace down in half guard.

Sin is working for a kimura but Sigit is defending it quite comfortably.
Sin stalling.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sigit is not content to let Sin control the position.
Sigit slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Sigit looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sin passes into side control.
Sigit is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Sigit wants to get back to full guard.
Sin trying to control the pace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sigit is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sin's back!
Sin is really stuck here.

Lee Sin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Sigit tries to clinch but Sin moves out of range.
A countering left hand to the body from Sin misses.
Sin throws a lazy right hand but Sigit sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sin missing with a left hand there. Sigit was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sigit blocks a jab.
Sigit avoids the body shot from Sin.
Sigit closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sin circles away.
Sigit walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Sin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sigit defending well as Sin loads up on a big left hand.
Sin lands the left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sigit is defended easily by Sin.
Sin throws a hook but Sigit avoids it easily.

Sin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Sigit appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Sigit fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Sigit. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sin moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Sigit shoots in but no luck this time.
Sigit gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Lee Sin seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Sin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sin thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Sigit if he has to take too many more of those.
Sin connects with a body shot.
Sigit on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sin. Sin obviously looking to wear him down.
Sin lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Sin misses with a low kick.

Sigit on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

so Sigit counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sigit postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Sigit stands up over Sin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The Sigit overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sin is pulling down on Sigit's head to control his posture.

Sigit wants to control from the top but Sin keeps moving.

Sigit postures up in Sin's guard and throws a big left but Sin blocks it.
Sigit lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Sin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sigit's guard.

Sigit is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sigit is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Sin rolls with it to try and escape but Sigit cranks on the arm and Sin is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). The Sigit!
The Sigit retains his welterweight title!
A relieved looking The Sigit thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
