Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexey Alexandrov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenny Knight!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Alexandrov counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Knight's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Alexandrov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Knight scrambles back to his feet.
Knight misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Alexandrov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Alexandrov avoids the head kick by Knight.
Knight has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Alexandrov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Knight.
Alexandrov throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Knight counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Knight throws a head kick but Alexandrov moves out of range.
Alexandrov fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Knight throws out a leg kick but Alexandrov moves out of range and Knight only half commits.
Alexandrov wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Alexandrov closes the distance and clinches.
Knight tries to pull guard but Alexandrov forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Alexandrov lands a right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alexandrov effectively controlling the action here.
Knight tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Alexandrov smiles and moves away.
Knight takes a swing at Alexandrov's ribcage but misses.

Alexandrov moves into the clinch successfully.
Knight tries to throw a body punch but Alexandrov avoids it by throwing Knight back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Alexandrov is trying to trip Knight. He has hold of a leg but Knight is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Alexandrov persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Knight trying to keep a closed guard but Alexandrov is proving a slippery customer.
Alexandrov lands a couple of elbows.
We've been hearing that Alexandrov has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knight looking for a sweep. Not yet Knight, not yet.
Knight keeping moving, preventing Alexandrov from controlling successfully.
Alexandrov postures up and lands a big shot to Knight's brow.
Alexandrov won't allow Knight to get back to his feet.

Knight throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Alexandrov content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Alexandrov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Knight has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alexandrov has managed to get both his arms back between Knight's legs - danger averted.
Alexandrov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Alexandrov cracks Knight with a solid left hand.
Knight can't keep his opponent in guard - Alexandrov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Knight wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alexandrov working Knight over with strikes.
Knight wants to improve his position but Alexandrov is controlling well.
Knight has hold of Alexandrov's hands but Alexandrov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.


Knight is rocked!

Knight looking for submissions off his back.
Alexandrov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alexandrov looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Knight is still in real trouble! Can Alexandrov finish him?
Alexandrov lands a big elbow - Knight is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Alexandrov!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexey Alexandrov!
A very excited looking Alexey Alexandrov made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
