The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Granite doesn't manage to clinch there - Carmichael circles away.
Granite lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carmichael circles away quickly and effectively.
Granite misses with a hook. Carmichael ducked under it nicely.

It looks like Leo Granite has been cut.
Granite looks to throw the jab but Carmichael is out of range.

Carmichael pushes Granite away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Granite gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

We've been hearing good reports from Carmichael 's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Granite is looking to take a break and control but Carmichael is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Granite is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Carmichael will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Granite gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Carmichael gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Granite is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
