The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rash.
Rash walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Nice jab there from Mayfield.
Rash dodges the punch combination from Mayfield.
And Rash tries to counter it with a takedown but Mayfield pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Jackie Mayfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Rash counters with a single leg into guard. Mayfield didn't expect that.
Mayfield pushes Rash off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Mayfield lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
