PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinnie Vincent (ranked 4852 p4p, 126 weight class) and Jandre Vorster (ranked 5435 p4p, 137 weight class). Vorster has chosen Behemoth as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Vinnie Vincent has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vinnie Vincent seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vinnie Vincent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jandre Vorster!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vincent pushes Vorster up against the cage in a clinch.
Vorster tries to score a body lock takedown but Vincent shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Vincent is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Vorster is defending well.

Vincent's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Vincent counters with a nice uppercut.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Vincent enables Vorster to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Vincent manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've been hearing good reports from Vincent's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Vincent seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Our spies down at at HELLCADEMY (Ground Training) inform us that Vorster has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

That was a close round but I would say that Vinnie Vincent will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Vorster will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jandre Vorster showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

It looked like Vincent was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Vorster.

Vorster takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Vorster has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Vincent clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Vorster has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Vincent has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
You can see the frustration on Vincent's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Vincent defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.
Vincent controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Vincent stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vorster swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vorster wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Vincent is now in half guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A very excited looking Jandre Vorster rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
