Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erick Darko (ranked 887 p4p, 116 weight class) and Pave Hunt (ranked 1319 p4p, 175 weight class). Darko comes to the cage accompanied by S.C.O.S.A - Flatbush Zombies. Erick Darko could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Pave Hunt's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Erick Darko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Pave Hunt!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Bruno Lombardi and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Hunt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hunt fails in his attempt to clinch.
Darko tries to move into range but Hunt moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Hunt gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hunt with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Darko to score with a decent uppercut.
Donk. Darko catches Hunt right on the button with a cross.
Hunt waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Darko.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Darko, as that shot connected.

Hunt gets caught flat footed, as Darko shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hunt wants to get back to his feet but Darko is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Darko throws a big elbow that misses.
Darko working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Darko is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Darko advances to half guard.

Darko trying to control the action but Hunt is working from the bottom.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Darko is trying to control the action in half guard but Hunt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Darko's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Darko is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hunt is refusing to be controlled, as Darko sits in half guard.
Darko thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hunt's head.

Darko seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hunt for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Darko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Darko has gone for a leg lock! Hunt slips out almost immediately though and dives into Darko's guard.

Darko pulls Hunt in close to prevent any damage.
Darko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Darko isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hunt stacks Darko on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hunt!

Darko is working hard here to advance position.
Darko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hunt decides to stand up, so the ref orders Darko to his feet.
Darko throws the left hand but Hunt avoids the punch easily.
Pave Hunt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hunt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Erick Darko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hunt rushes Darko and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hunt misses with some punches.
Darko scores with a hook to the body.

Darko blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hunt pushes Darko back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Darko tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Hunt lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Darko or not.

Darko is looking for a takedown.
Hunt throws a punch but it's blocked by Darko.

Hunt has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Darko seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Hunt can turn it around.
Darko has a couple of punches blocked by Hunt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Darko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hunt is fending him off so far but Darko persists. Nope, Hunt circles away and we're back to standing.

Darko makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Hunt throws a punch but it's blocked by Darko.
Hunt lands with a right to the head.
Darko misses with a short punch on the inside.
Hunt swings wildly with an uppercut but Darko uses good head movement to avoid it.
Darko blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hunt misses with a hook from the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Hunt fails to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Darko jumps guard but Hunt stands there with Darko around his waist. Darko gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Darko lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Hunt backwards.
Hunt misses with the head strike.
Hunt lands an uppercut.
Darko lands with a left to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hunt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Darko creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Darko has clasped his hands together around Hunt's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Darko cracks Hunt with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Darko immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Hunt is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Darko!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Erick Darko!
A very excited looking Erick Darko rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
