Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andreas Telfer (ranked 7613 p4p, 544 weight class) and Anton Van Niem (ranked 23422 p4p, 626 weight class). Andreas Telfer could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Anton Van Niem's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andreas Telfer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anton Van Niem!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Niem with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Van Niem takes the fight into the clinch.

Van Niem is fighting off a takedown attempt but Telfer is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Van Niem to the mat. Van Niem regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Telfer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Telfer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Van Niem can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Telfer controls the pace.

Van Niem working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Telfer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Telfer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Telfer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Van Niem is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Telfer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Van Niem has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Telfer has managed to get both his arms back between Van Niem's legs - danger averted.

Van Niem has his foot on Telfer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Telfer works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Van Niem is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Telfer is aware though and is defending well.
Telfer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Van Niem is looking for a triangle but Telfer pushes his legs off easily.

Telfer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Van Niem is not content to let Telfer control the position.
Telfer passes to full mount!
Van Niem is trying to escape the mount.

Telfer is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Van Niem is surviving well by controlling Telfer's body position as best he can.
Telfer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Van Niem is looking to escape.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Telfer tries to control but Van Niem wriggling away.

Telfer has control of Van Niem's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Van Niem regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Telfer has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Van Niem clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Telfer doesn't have the hooks in and Van Niem manages to turn into his guard.

Van Niem is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Telfer has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Van Niem is looking to defend but Telfer has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Van Niem! Telfer pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Van Niem taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Andreas Telfer!
