Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Vale (ranked 2828 p4p, 252 weight class) and Eldar Smith (ranked 4566 p4p, 372 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vale might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Motorhead-Iron Fist . I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eldar Smith!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vale throws a poor cross that misses
and Smith counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Vale moves into the clinch.
Vale scores with a hook to the body.
Vale lands a nice shot to the body.

Smith's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've been hearing reports that Vale has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Vale throws a right hand that misses
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Vale lands a glancing blow to the side of Smith's head.

Smith rushes Vale and presses him up against the cage.
Smith misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Vale.

Vale is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Smith is defending well.

Vale drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Smith gets the underhooks and prevents it.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Vale wants the takedown. Smith is fighting it off but Vale persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Smith's guard against the cage.

Vale tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard.
Smith tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Smith is wriggling around but Vale manages to pass to half guard.
Smith on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Vale chips away with some ground and pound.

Smith has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Vale is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vale turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Check out the look on Vale's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
You can see the frustration on Smith's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Smith is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Vale throws a strike aimed at the side of Smith's head but Smith avoids it well.
Vale cracks Smith with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Smith is not content to let Vale control the position.
Smith tries to escape but Vale is in control.

Vale looks up at the clock and then as Smith takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Vale smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Smith tries to improve position but can't.

Vale grinds an elbow into Smith's temple.
The strikes coming from Vale are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Vale controlling the position from side mount.
Vale lands a few punches from side control.


Smith is rocked!
Vale scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Smith is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Vale can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Simon Vale!
Post fight, an emotional Simon Vale said 'This is my last fight. Time to retire, thanks to OFC your a great company to work for'.
