The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balzli uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Balzli instigates a clinch.
Gill tries to pull guard but Balzli won't allow it.
Gill changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Balzli fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Balzli stuffs the takedown attempt from Gill. Gill gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Gill. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Balzli gets a clinch.
Gill jumps guard but Balzli stands there with Gill around his waist. Gill gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Balzli lands a hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Mike Gill has been cut.
Balzli lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Gill has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Balzli is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Balzli.

Balzli lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Gill tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Balzli lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Balzli drops Gill onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Gill is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Gill is rocked!
Gill is breathing heavily.
A nice right hand lands inside from Balzli.
Oh Gill is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A short left from Balzli.
Balzli creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Gill with a big uppercut! Gill tries to clinch up but Balzli pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Gill to the mat! Gill covers up and Balzli unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
