PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Ruma Juttu (ranked 19334 p4p, 688 weight class) and DBrickashaw Stevens (ranked 18995 p4p, 670 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juttu misses with a hook. Stevens ducked under it nicely.
Stevens throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Stevens scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Juttu throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
The fighters circling - Stevens throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Stevens tries a head kick but it misses.
Stevens lands with a kick to the temple. Juttu shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Stevens has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Stevens tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Juttu sizes up Stevens with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Juttu has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Stevens finds it's way round the side to connect with Juttu's head.

Stevens fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Juttu looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Juttu lands with a nice body punch.
Juttu misses with an attempted mid kick.
Stevens thows a left - swing and a miss!

Stevens lands a head kick. Juttu smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Stevens ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Juttu moves away.
Juttu lands a leg kick that knocks Stevens off balance momentarily.
Stevens is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Juttu rather than just go for the knockout.
Stevens tests Juttu's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Juttu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Stevens throws an overhand right that lands on Juttu's shoulder, as Juttu tries to avoid the shot.
Juttu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Stevens moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Juttu is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Juttu slips a straight right by Stevens.
Stevens throws a front kick aimed at Juttu's knee but Juttu avoids it well.
Juttu lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

and Juttu counters with a straight right that drops Stevens on his ass! Stevens jumps back to his feet. He seems OK to continue so we'll get back to the action.
