Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chief Man (ranked 3041 p4p, 411 weight class) and Thabo Thunder (ranked 8032 p4p, 690 weight class). Thunder has chosen Calvin Harris - This Is What You Came For as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Thabo Thunder has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Chief Man's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thabo Thunder!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Man drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Man working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Thunder trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Man stands up and waves to Thunder to follow him.

Man moves into the clinch successfully.
Man lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
I was talking to Man's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
A nice right hand lands inside from Man.
Man lands a right hand.
Man stalls.
Man lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Man landing some nice looking knees to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Man putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Thunder in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Thunder struggles to land a body shot inside as Man controls his hands.
Man lands an elbow that stopped Thunder in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Thabo Thunder has been cut.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Man creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Man lands with a left to the head.
Man lands a hook to the side of the head.
Thunder looks winded!
Man lands on the inside with an uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Man breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Man rushes Thunder and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Man lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Thunder backwards.
Man lands a left hand.

Man breaks from the clinch.
Thunder lands a really nice looking cross but Man seems unphased.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Man takes the fight into the clinch.
Thunder's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Man landing knees to the body.
Man throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Thunders head.
Thunder tries a knee to the head but Man blocks it.
Thunder misses with the head strike.

Man wants the takedown. Thunder is fighting it off but Man persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Thunder's guard against the cage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Man cracks Thunder with a solid left hand.
Man knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thunder on the ground.
Thunder bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Man's guard.

Thunder stops Man from standing up.
Thunder has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Rabid Reindeer Training. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Thunder drops back, looking for a kneebar! Man looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Man looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Man!

Man decides to stand back up.

Man darts in and clinches Thunder up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Man keeps control of Thunder as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Thunder tries to pull guard but Man won't allow it.
Man is stalling here.
Man lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Man lands an uppercut.
Thunder fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Man breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Man shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thunder pinned against the cage. Thunder gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Thunder throws a head kick but Man moves out of range.

Man clinches up with Thunder and pushes him back against the cage.

Thunder is fighting off a takedown attempt but Man is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Thunder to the mat. Thunder regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Thunder kicks Man off and gets to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Man fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Thunder, pushing him back against the cage.
Man lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Man scores with a knee to the head.

Man manages to break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Thunder tries to score a power double leg takedown but Man sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Thunder somewhat.
Chief Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thabo Thunder.

Man clinches.
Man lands a hook to the side of the head.
Man lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Man drags the fight down to the ground.
Thunder postures up in Man's guard and throws a big left but Man blocks it.
Thunder prevents Man from getting back to his feet.
Thunder trying to control but Man is working from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Thunder working some strikes from top position.
Thunder tries to free his leg and advance position but Man is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chief Man dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Thabo Thunder's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Man doesn't manage to clinch there - Thunder circles away.

Thunder gets a clinch.
Man lands a left hand.
A short right from Man on the inside.
A short left from Man.

Thunder takes a shot to the head.

Man jumps into guard, dragging Thunder to the mat.
Thunder loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Thunder prevents Man from getting back to his feet.

Man pushes Thunder off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thunder misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thunder fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Thunder looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Man is fending him off so far but Thunder persists. Nope, Man circles away and we're back to standing.
Thunder throws a chopping leg kick but Man manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Thunder will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Man takes the fight into the clinch.
Man pushes Thunder back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
A right handed body shot lands from Man.
Man lands a nice uppercut.
Man lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Thunder takes an elbow to the forehead.
Thunder jumps guard but Man turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Thunder is breathing heavily.
Thunder working aggressively here.
Thunder misses with a hook to the ribs.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Man.
Thunder trying to land knees to the body.
Man lands with a right to the head.
Thunder fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Man manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thunder trying to control the position from guard on top but Man is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Thunder is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Man asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Man is putting a hurting on Thunder here, landing some big shots from side control.
Thunder is not content to let Man control the position.

Man decides to stand back up. Man steps back and let's Thunder get back to his feet.

Man has managed to clinch.
Man lands with a short shot to the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Man.
Man lands a left hand that snaps the head of Thunder backwards.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Man comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


Thunder is rocked!
Thunder blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Thunder is still on wobbly legs! Can Man finish him?
Man lands a left hand that snaps the head of Thunder backwards.
Man lands a big right hand that drops Thunder! The killer instinct kicks in and Man finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chief Man!
Chief Man took to the microphone after his victory and thanked his sponsors, Woodshins' Ship for their support in the buildup to the fight.
The defeated Thabo Thunder had this to say: 'It was a great fight, and I will just have to train harder.'.
