The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phaneuf throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Riitta dodges the punch combination from Phaneuf.
Riitta swats away the attempt to clinch by Phaneuf.
Despite the aggression on Riitta's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Riitta swings for the body but Phaneuf moves out of range.
Phaneuf tests Riitta's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Phaneuf moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Phaneuf pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Riitta doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Phaneuf catches Riitta with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Phaneuf closes the distance looking to clinch
letting Riitta counter with a right hand.
It looks like Jean Luc Phaneuf has been cut.
A swing and a miss from Phaneuf.
Riitta connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Phaneuf covering up! Riitta comes in with a big uppercut and Phaneuf goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
