The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
God swings for the body but Mondariz moves out of range.
Mondariz turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

God looking to score a takedown here. Mondariz is defending well but God drives through and ends up in Mondariz's guard.
Mondariz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with God. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
God postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
God tries to free his leg and advance position but Mondariz is retaining full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
