Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Augusto Carvarlo (ranked 6365 p4p, 117 weight class) and Sam Bellafontane (ranked 24563 p4p, 260 weight class). Augusto Carvarlo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvarlo gets caught flat footed, as Bellafontane shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Bellafontane is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Carvarlo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carvarlo has his foot on Bellafontane's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bellafontane works his way back into a safe position though.
Bellafontane makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Bellafontane working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Bellafontane has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bellafontane keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carvarlo's head.

Bellafontane connects with a couple of short punches.
Carvarlo is rocked!
Bellafontane arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Carvarlo's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
