Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Greene (ranked 3306 p4p, 434 weight class) and Wade Garrett (ranked 5007 p4p, 589 weight class). Greene comes to the cage accompanied by Oakland. Garrett has chosen Chumbawamba - Tubthumping as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garrett fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Greene seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Wade Garrett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Greene closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Greene lands in his opponent's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Greene's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Garrett wants to stand and escape but Greene is having none of it.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Garrett manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Garrett lands a body punch.
Garrett digs a right hand underneath Greene's ribcage. Greene let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Greene jumps guard but Garrett stands there with Greene around his waist. Greene gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Garrett's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

It looks like Hunter Greene has been cut.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Garrett.
Greene takes a head kick and keeps coming.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Greene crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Garrett - the referee stops the clock and Greene gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Garrett. Greene manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Greene takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Greene shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Garrett wants to stand but Greene is controlling the position.

Garrett wriggles free and stands up.
Garrett pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Greene back to the cage. Garrett follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Garrett throws a right and a left that Greene avoids nicely.
Garrett connects with a body shot that sends Greene's belly button to the back.
Greene takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Greene swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Garrett feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Greenes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Greene shoots for a double leg takedown but Garrett sprawls well. He's pushed Greene's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Greene thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Garrett is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Greene has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Garrett is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Greene closes the distance and clinches up with Garrett, looking for a takedown. Greene pushes Garrett against the cage but Garrett circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A head kick from Garrett lands but Greene takes it in his stride.
Garrett lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
No joy there for Garrett, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Garrett throws a nice looking combination but Greene bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Garrett shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Greene eats them both and turns towards Garrett to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Greene dives in and grabs Garrett's left leg, looking for a takedown. Garrett pushes down on Greene's head and hops out.
