PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Ure (ranked 4655 p4p, 400 weight class) and Harold Meechum (ranked 21716 p4p, 582 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meechum darts in and clinches Ure up against the cage.

Meechum tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Meechum has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Meechum thows an elbow strike that misses. Ure gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Meechum doesn't seem too bothered but Ure quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Meechum is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Meechum really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
