This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 7 losses; Cael Schultz! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 7 losses; Hemfsford Jowars!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Schultz instigates a clinch.
Jowars is working for takedown but Schultz is calmly controlling the position for now.
Jowars is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Schultz to keep the fight standing.
Jowars is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Schultz has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jowars uses from the top position.

Jowars tries to free his leg and advance position but Schultz is retaining full guard.

Schultz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jowars doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jowars manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jowars is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Schultz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Schultz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jowars doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jowars manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

It looks like Jowars might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Jowars is stalling here. Schultz is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Jowars seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Schultz has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Schultz has hold of Jowars's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Jowars seems comfortable defending it but Schultz has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Jowars is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Jowars is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Schultz couldn't care less - he's delighted!
