The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Markov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Sunchez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Markov pulls his head out easily.

Sunchez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Markov is looking for a kimura but Sunchez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Markov to get the leverage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Markov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sunchez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Markov, into his guard.

Sunchez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Markov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sunchez has managed to get both his arms back between Markov's legs - danger averted.

Sunchez passes Markov's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

I've been told that Sunchez has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

Markov throws a strike but Sunchez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Sunchez and the ref steps in to end the fight! Sunchez can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
